Okay, so the temperatures have dropped to a comfortable 95 degrees, so we may just survive. Maybe. I may have to eat the frozen popcorn on a stick that Lola suggests, but that may prove to be a tad too scary for me. Frozen popcorn just isn't normal.
I'll give a full report on Monday, but no photos--it's too hot to carry the camera bag. Perhaps a stick figure drawing will suffice? We'll see. Don't get your hopes up.
Happy Weekend, pallies. Turn off your computer a bit and go enjoy your outside lives. See you Monday.

Have a great time. I have always wanted to get down to A Taste of Chicago! I will one of these years!
Frozen popcorn is something I have never heard of. It sounds a little unnatural to me too. If you try it, give a review for us all.
Frozen popcorn sounds a bit like fried pickles and fried twinkies. Please give it a try so I can live vicariously through you! :)
I hope the humidity is a little lower than it has been. It can get awfully sticky out there.
Say no to the frozen popcorn on a stick.
Looking forward to what will surely be an insightful review of the taste, although something tells me Da Mayor might not approve.
The LAST time there, we took the Rock Island down. Fran wore flip flop/tongs. The fun ended when Fran emerged from a crowded line with her flip flop rubber toe thingy broke, rendering it unwearable. Game OVER. From that moment on I became acutely aware of scorching pavement, pigeon poop, the lack of a flip flop kiosk, and a tender child's foot in the big city.
Finally limping into a Michigan Ave hotel souvenir shop, I gazed incredulously at the price tag on one size 9 cheap pair of tourist gouging "sweet home chicago" tongs $105.99 plus tax. (exaggeration)
The first "Chicagofests" Bilandic had on the Pier r now all but legendary. Before opportunists, in it's innocence it was truly exciting. Now Taste conjures thoughts of exploitation, vulnerability, extortion, ....and a few more I can't say here. A chance to enjoy the faces and families of Chicago still make it all worth the risks. Looking forward. Fran's Dad
No camera?! Well then at least sneak the swim suit on under the clothes, walk on down the to the Lake for a cool off dip...that is if the frozen popcorn doesn't do the trick ;-)
I never even knew popcorn would freeze. It sounds a little yucky. Unless you put chocolate on it.
Turn off my computer?
(Horrors)
Get a life?
(What would I do with a life?)
This is all I know.
(All I want to know.)
Have a grate weak end.

Have fun at Taste! I haven't been in years. I stopped going because I don't like crowds and because I kept eating the same thing every year.
I would try the frozen caramel popcorn on a stick, I think. If I had room after pizza, ribs, meatballs, turkey leg, fried cheese, and cheesecake on a stick.
Can I just say that I am jealous beyond words that you are going to the taste of Chicago. Details are a must! Can't wait for the update!
Enjoy! Looking forward to hearing all about the frozen pop corn and heat:)
Oh have a wonderful time. The publicist had a farmer's market today and has a concert tomorrow. So yeah, she gets to rest a bit.
She made chocolate goat's milk ice cream. Yum.
Hope you just have the bestest time ever!!!!
Have a great time! Not too sure about the frozen popcorn - sounds a little odd to me. Sounds like each bite would feel like eating kernels.
I hope you had fun! That sounds yummy! I snuck online while we are waiting to go to drive in movie tonight. I still feel a teeny weensy bit guilty not blogging the last few days, but oh well.
I'm suddenly hungry. We got some popcorn at Target yesterday and Graham wouldn't even try it. Whose kid is he anyway? Have a great weekend....
Stacie--It is fun, but you gotta be prepared for crowds and heat. Worth the trip!
Ratty--I didn't try it, I didn't want to spend my tickets on something I might waste. Maybe if it was free....
Chocolate--Yeah, no. The Taste is sorta expensive and I couldn't bear to waste the tickets. It just seemed like a chemical infused thing that might be scary. I was sticking with chocolate covered frozen cheesecake!
Violet--I did say "no"! And the temps were great, so the day was lovely. My feet are tired and my tummy full--what a great combo!
Fran's Dad--I read you comment before we left and banished all flip-flops from the trip--thanks for the heads-up!! What a nightmare that must have been!! Yeah, it was expensive and crowded, but we were with friends and had a wonderful day in spite of the commercialization. I'm not sure there is much down there you can do without spending a wad of cash anymore, which makes me sad. We used to go down there for nothing and walk around--not anymore. Even parking is expensive!
Jodi--Okay, I brought the smaller camera for okay photos but great stories. Gees, I could sit and people-watch for days there!! Man, there are some characters in this world!!
Daisy--Yeah. I wondered what they put on it to make it freeze. It screamed "Dippin' Dots" to me, which seems kinda chemical-like, so I stayed clear. That was sorta scary.
Chuck--Oh, you're silly!! I'll give a full report this week after I recover.
JD--I'm with you, I found myself eating the same stuff as last year! But it was good--chicken tamale, pad thai, pot stickers, cheesecake on a stick, sweet potato fries, and Harry Carry's pototo chips. Ahhhh, yum!!
DG--Here's the Readers Digest version--stuffed, feet hurt, shoulders sunburned, heart full, and smile on my face. :)
Nancy--No popcorn. It was freaky looking and nobody in my group was willing to waste the tickets on it. And we had 6 teens with us--so that tells you something.
Pricilla--Don't you love having something new to do on the weekends?? I do. Except then I hate Mondays even more. Hope you had a good weekend too!
Beaded Tail--I think they came up with this for a "schtick". I didn't see too many folks jumping on that one. But there was a HUGE line for free Eli's cheesecake!
Storm--See, we gotta get rid of the guilt. We NEED free time away from the computer. We NEED to spend time with our families. I'm glad you escaped!! Don't you feel better??! I do.
Casey--Really?? No popcorn for the kid??? Well, be glad. There comes a day that they start to eat and don't stop and I have to say I prefer the good old days when they didn't eat. It took Col 17 years, but now I can't keep him in food!! Ugh!
Frozen popcorn? Doesn't sound good to me! Be sure to give a review in your next post.
i keep seeing the damn popcorn stuff on tv....did you try it?
Stick figure! LOL! You crack me up. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.
