Basket 'O Hobbes

Hobbes Before:
Hobbes After:

I'm thinking homeboy needs a new basket. 'Ol tubby isn't fitting so well in his little kitty basket by the fireplace anymore. It's funny how in just 6 short months, Hobbes has gained like 47 pounds and acts like one of the big cats now. It's downright ridiculous that I actually refer to him as "the little kitty" still.
But as pathetic as that extra-large tummy is, he still has, what we refer to as the "pet shop meow". Hobbes has the puniest, most pathetic meow that I have ever heard. I liken it to the lame meows of kittens who crave to be adopted at the shelter or pet store. I think they secretly practice being extra pathetic so someone will take them home. Hobbes completely mastered his and he still has it to this day. It's just so darned funny to see this moosey cat with a little puny meow coming out of him.

Cats have the life, don't they? :)

I wish at least one of ours had a puny meow. All four have really good lungs.

Hobbes is just so cute! It appears that he prefers his basket near warmth whether it's from the sunlight or the fireplace. How funny that he's "outgrown" his meow!

It always amazes me how our big ole cats find a little shoe box and squeeze inside! But, one cat has taken over one of the dogs gigantic beds!

The basket might be too small for the cat, but he doesn't seem to mind one bit. I had a cat that whenever it tried to meow, it would come out as only a croak.

Storm--His voice may be puny, but it goes non-stop. UGH.

Tail--He goes and lays by the fireplace hoping I'll turn it on for him now.

Sherri--Is that the alpha cat? What a bully!! Yeah, they always find the tiniest of boxes or bags to try to get into, don't they?!

Ratty--Yeah! That's like Hobbes! It's so weird and annoying.

That's funny because whenever I shoo Sophie out of our bedroom or out of my way, she doesn't meow, she makes this sound that's more like "eh" than meow. If she doesn't move it and you say Sophie scram or whatever, she'll "eh" "eh" like she's arguing with you. One of these times I'll have to record it on my flip camera and then figure out how to upload it. (My bad, I still haven't figured that part out yet.)

How cute. Our monster of a cat, Whiskers, has the tiniest meow. You would think it would be as substantial as she is, but no.

wow, it's just like looking at one of your kids in a pair of pants you just bought two weeks ago that's now 10 inches above their ankle.

Until you pointed it out, I didn't notice the size of his basket, just the beautiful feline lazing about.

A woman I used to work with said her cat just mouthed the word meow. No noise, just the open mouth.

How awesome is that? I would have loved to not hear the cat begging too early for breakfast.

So cute!! :)

Reminds me of our bulldog Dozer. At 60 pounds, he still thinks he is a lap dog!

Hobbes grew up real good!

My cat pumpkin has a meow like she has been smoking for half her life. It is very growly and rough.
Cats are funny critters...

What cute pictures. Even though it looks like he's outgrown the basket he still looks like he's relaxing pretty well.

My 13-y-o asked for a cat yesterday for her birthday. (Somehow forgetting she's been allergic all her life.) I told her maybe she should ask the parent who actually likes cats. I tolerate them.

Those pictures are so cute! Yes, I think he needs a new basket, but he seems to be enjoying the one he has despite how he hangeth over.

Lola--Oh that is hilarious!! I can hear her in my mind "eh"ing!!

Merry--I've never heard that before until Hobbes. That's funny that your cat does that too. He talks WAAAYY too much.

Natural--Yeah, it seems like yesterday that he was a little bloop of a kitten! Gees, now he's like 12 pounds or something crazy like that!

CG--Two words: Electronic Feeder. LOVE it!! You can program it to feed the cat specific portions up to 8 times a day. Best $100 I've ever spent!

I swear he's got to be our boy cat's twin. Despite to difference in color of course. Langley sits just like that on his back with his legs spread and he also has the tiniest little baby meow ever! Those pathetic boys.
